Few movements have left as profound a mark on the history of modern watchmaking as the El Primero. Introduced by ZENITH in 1969 as the world’s first high-frequency integrated automatic chronograph movement, El Primero established a new technical benchmark with its regulating organ operating at 5 Hz, while quickly becoming one of the most recognizable movements in the world of horology.
Yet beyond its chronograph function, El Primero has always been defined by more fundamental elements: rhythm, operating frequency, and the distinctive feel of high-frequency precision.

With the CHRONOMASTER Solo Sport, ZENITH explores this aspect through a more direct and streamlined interpretation of the collection. For the first time, CHRONOMASTER introduces a three-hand watch designed for versatility in everyday use, while preserving the high-frequency identity that has defined El Primero for more than five decades.
Freed from the chronograph display, the CHRONOMASTER Solo Sport brings attention back to the qualities that have always defined El Primero beyond its timekeeping function: its high-frequency rhythm, precision, and feel on the wrist. The result is a watch created not for one specific purpose or occasion, but for the rhythm of everyday life itself.

Neither entirely sporty nor confined by traditional codes of elegance, the CHRONOMASTER Solo Sport is designed to adapt naturally to different settings and moments throughout the day.
Its 40 mm stainless steel case balances compact proportions with strong architectural lines on the wrist. A unidirectional rotating ceramic bezel adds functionality and a contemporary character to the overall design. More than simply a technical detail, the bezel also contributes to the versatility of the design, making it suitable for both everyday urban life and more active environments.
Protected by two crown guards with strong, defined lines, the screw-down crown reinforces the watch’s robust construction while also supporting water resistance to 20 ATM.

At the heart of the CHRONOMASTER Solo Sport is the El Primero 3620 calibre, developed from the El Primero 3600 chronograph movement.
Operating at 5 Hz, equivalent to 36,000 vibrations per hour, this automatic Manufacture movement continues the high-frequency signature that has been associated with El Primero since its creation.
The El Primero 3620 is equipped with a silicon escapement, a stop-seconds mechanism that allows for precise time setting, and a bidirectional winding system with a star-shaped rotor. The movement provides a 60-hour power reserve.

The dial plays a central role in translating the high-frequency character into a visual expression.
Crafted from ceramic, the surface of the dial is formed by a continuously repeated Z motif tilted at 45 degrees, evoking the rhythm and oscillations of the movement beneath. Depending on the version, the pattern appears on a white ceramic dial with a sunray finish, or on polished black and brown ceramic surfaces, creating different expressions of the same design language.

This entirely new motif was developed by ZENITH as a visual signature of high frequency, translating the movement’s rhythm and precision directly onto the surface of the dial. Designed specifically for the CHRONOMASTER Solo Sport, this graphic structure also introduces a new design language within the CHRONOMASTER family, taking the perception of frequency beyond the purely technical.
The same visual language continues on the counterweight of the seconds hand, while the “shark tooth” minute track around the outer edge of the dial creates a clear division of time, inspired by historic ZENITH designs. Together, these details create a dial architecture closely connected to the world of El Primero.

The CHRONOMASTER Solo Sport is fitted with a three-link stainless steel bracelet paired with the ZENCLASP™ folding clasp.
Developed by ZENITH to improve both security and comfort in everyday use, ZENCLASP™ features an ergonomic architecture with rounded lines, an integrated safety-locking system, and a micro-adjustment mechanism that allows the bracelet to be resized quickly and precisely without tools.

The wearer can make adjustments in 2.5 mm increments, with a total extension range of up to 10 mm, allowing the bracelet to adapt to natural changes in wrist size throughout the day.
Hidden inside the folding clasp is a structure comprising 41 components, including 10 ceramic balls that serve to lock and position the mechanism. ZENITH spent three years, equivalent to approximately 1,800 hours of research, engineering, and optimization, developing ZENCLASP™. The durability of each function was also tested under conditions equivalent to more than 10 years of real-world use, with a total of more than 600,000 opening and closing cycles.
The CHRONOMASTER Solo Sport is offered with three dial and ceramic bezel color options: black, white, and brown, displaying the hours, minutes, seconds, and date. The black version is also available without a date display, offering a more streamlined appearance for those who favor purity in design.
