Dior&rsquo;s latest release&mdash;the Roadie&mdash;gets worn by a lineup of ambassadors and friends&mdash;Mingyu, Hyunjin, Apo Nattawin, Mile Phakphum, James Jirayu, and Phutatchai&mdash;each giving the hybrid silhouette their own spin. Designed by Jonathan Anderson and first seen on his debut runway, the Dior Roadie sits somewhere between a sneaker and a derby along with the ease of a driving shoe.
This season, though, it&rsquo;s gone further. What started as a streamlined, almost minimal style now feels like a key part of Dior&rsquo;s new direction.&nbsp;The construction does most of the talking. The split, ultra-flexible sole gives the shoe a slightly relaxed stance even when styled with sharper looks. The cannage detail keeps it close to Dior codes, but everything else feels a little more contemporary.
There&rsquo;s also a noticeable shift in texture. Instead of sticking to suede, the newer versions mix in polished calfskin and even Donegal tweeds.&nbsp;Color plays into that rugged edge. You&rsquo;ll see deeper greens, browns, midnight blues, even a sharper hit of red. On this cast, the Roadie lands right in that sweet spot: easy to wear, but not forgettable.
