The Belgian designer is set to join Versace this July.

Versace is entering a new chapter. The Prada Group and the Italian house have announced the appointment of Pieter Mulier as Chief Creative Officer, effective July 1, 2026. The strategic move places the brand at a turning point.
A well-established figure in contemporary fashion, Mulier has built his career on a precise, architectural approach to design. Trained in both design and architecture, he began working alongside Raf Simons, who brought him to Jil Sander. There, he sharpened his sense of structure and detail, initially overseeing accessories, shoes, and leather goods before becoming Design Director.
He later held the role of Design Director at Christian Dior and went on to become Global Creative Director at Calvin Klein. At each house, he developed distinct aesthetics rooted in formal discipline and modern clarity. More recently, as Creative Director of Ala&iuml;a, he reactivated the brand&rsquo;s heritage with a sculptural sensuality that resonated both critically and commercially.
In his new position, Mulier will report to Lorenzo Bertelli, Executive Chairman of Versace. Together, they will oversee the next phase of the house, bringing its signature flamboyance into dialogue with a contemporary creative vision.
