Kaira Cooper merges fashion with her joyful designs for a collection of eyewear cases all for a good cause.

It&rsquo;s not every day that you come across a fashion brand that advocates for the well-being of animals. But Owndays, the Japanese eyewear label known for its quality specs and sunglasses, continues to challenge the norm with the second launch of their Cases for Change campaign.
"Let's spark the conversation for change today as we engage with our esteemed partners and reveal the cases that symbolize our shared commitment to this cause,&rsquo; shares Jammie Gregorio, Owndays Philippines Marketing Manager. This year&rsquo;s theme is all about safeguarding local species that are endemic to the Philippines. Thus, the brand partnered with three proudly Filipino animal welfare organizations: CURMA (Coastal Underwater Resource Management Actions), PEF (The Philippine Eagle Foundation), and PAWS (Philippine Animal Welfare Society).

During the launch, each organization brought to light the struggles and importance of their causes. CURMA and PEF emphasized that people should act to protect our local wildlife to ensure that each species survives and thrives for future generations. While PAWS talked about responsible pet ownership and shared a powerful sentiment that: what we do to the animals, we ultimately do to ourselves.
Through Owndays&rsquo; Cases for Change, you can help support these three organizations by purchasing a specially designed eyewear case at any branch. But unlike your typical eyeglass case, these three custom designs were created by an artist who shares the same ideology as the campaign.

&ldquo;Landing a project like this excited me not only because I got to collaborate with a brand like&nbsp;Owndays, but also because I got to be a part of a project that serves such an amazing cause. One of my biggest inspirations as an artist has always been the ability to tell stories through my creations, so having the opportunity to work on a project for a cause like this reminds me just how powerful art can be. That as an artist, I have that very power and skill to visually bring to life ideas that go beyond myself,&rdquo; artist Kaira Cooper tells L&rsquo;Officiel.
Kaira designed a case representing each of Owndays&rsquo; partner organizations and did her best to beautifully illustrate the animals that would benefit from the cause. &ldquo;Each design showcases the specific animals in their natural habitat and the animals themselves are carefully illustrated with attention to detail to each species such as the aspin and puspin, the Philippine eagle, and the green sea turtle.&rdquo;

When asked about the importance of such a collaboration, Kaira encapsulates the entire experience as fulfilling&mdash;especially for a young creative such as herself. &ldquo;I loved how it became a platform for me to not only showcase my work, but also to help and advocate for the three partnered organizations: PAWS, Project CURMA, and the Philippine Eagle Foundation. As a young creative who is still finding her footing in the world, receiving recognition and acknowledgment for my creations is something I highly value and deeply appreciate as this gives me the opportunity to get to work on more projects with a similar purpose.&rdquo;
The &ldquo;Cases for Change&rdquo; eyeglass case is available at all Owndays stores nationwide until June 1, 2024. Priced at Php 250 when purchased with a pair of Owndays prescription glasses or at Php 500 if bought individually.
