In Florence, the exhibition moves between past, present, and what comes next.

In Florence, Gucci reopens Palazzo Gucci with a different approach. Inside the 14th-century Palazzo della Mercanzia, the house presents Gucci Storia, an exhibition conceived as something in constant movement, less a fixed retrospective, more an evolving narrative shaped under the direction of Demna.
The layout follows the idea of a &ldquo;museum of museums.&rdquo; Each room works on its own terms, with its own pace and atmosphere. The first space, Au Fil du Temps, sets the tone with large-scale tapestries that trace the house&rsquo;s 105-year history. Drawing from Florentine craftsmanship and Renaissance references, they move from Guccio Gucci&rsquo;s early years to a more contemporary point of view.

Further in, La Galleria brings together tradition and present-day imagery through portraits from the Spring/Summer 2026 collection, photographed by Catherine Opie. The images frame a broader idea of &ldquo;family,&rdquo; showing different expressions of identity across generations. That thread continues in Archivio, where rare objects and key pieces are displayed together in a deliberately non-linear way.
The exhibition also shifts into more sensory spaces. A velvet-lined cinema room focuses on Demna&rsquo;s visual universe, while Generazione Gucci expands into a photographic exploration of how the house&rsquo;s codes continue to evolve.

Taken together, Gucci Storia positions Palazzo Gucci as more than a store or exhibition space. It becomes a place where the brand&rsquo;s past and present are shown side by side, without trying to resolve them into a single narrative.
