The new Hammerschlag collection takes inspiration from RIMOWA&rsquo;s iconic archival design.

Since its creation in 1898, RIMOWA has taken pride in its stature as a pioneer in creating visionary travel tools that blend form and function, eventually creating an archival collection that strongly stands the test of time. In honor of the Maison&rsquo;s heritage, RIMOWA takes inspiration from its archival pieces to create the new Hammerschlag collection.

Staying true to the Maison&rsquo;s cemented history of craftsmanship, the new collection features a distinctive surface called Hammerschlag, a German term meaning &lsquo;hammer hit&rsquo;, consisting of a textured aluminum finish beloved for its gleaming polished surface. Today, this iconic archival design makes a stellar return&ndash;appearing on the RIMOWA Hand-Carry Case Hammerschlag and the RIMOWA Cabin Hammerschlag.
Fronting the limited-edition collection&rsquo;s campaign is renowned German musician and composer Nils Frahm who showcases an amazing performance of his track &ldquo;Hammers&rdquo;. The campaign shines the spotlight on RIMOWA&rsquo;s craftsmanship that is akin to the beauty of music, as shown in the travel cases&rsquo; unique Hammerschlag pattern and the melodic motions of Frahm&rsquo;s piano keys, to artistically reveal a harmony in the intricate maneuvers often needed to attain subtlety.

Among its new functionalities, the limited-edition Hammerschlag collection maintains a vintage appeal, which includes a re-edition of an archival 1966 RIMOWA Hammered Hand Case&rsquo;s handle in a Cognac hue as well as a premium nylon interior with a curved leather-made compartment. These new products also come with a specially designed curved luggage tag to mimic the leather elements within the suitcase&rsquo;s interior.
