<p>L'Officiel Philippines speaks to Sean Bautista of transit records to find out how they've been getting people moving&mdash;whether that's during pre-pandemic club nights to their virtual parties in 2020-21.</p>

        <h6><strong>How did transit records begin?&nbsp;</strong></h6>
        <p><span>transit records started as an offshoot and activations arm of our sister concept &mdash; transit store. We would throw club nights, artist workshops and create merch for this music-centered monicker. In 2019 we decided to establish ourselves as a DJ collective by throwing parties and participating in residencies for venues like XX:XX, Futur:st, Bowery, and NoKal. In 2020, we started operating as a label by publishing and distributing original music.</span></p>
        <h6><strong>How has transit been spending the past year? </strong></h6>
        <p><span>The team has used the last year as an opportunity to experiment, iterate, and collaborate. With the emergence of virtual parties and internet radio, we were keen to express our point of view through these new platforms. All our resident DJs have performed in our online streams and have broadcast their own shows on Manila Community Radio. The team has also been venturing into video content, slowly building a collection of content on our Youtube channel ranging from behind-the-scenes event coverage to lifestyle and things we&rsquo;re into.</span></p>

        <h6><strong>What inspires your work? </strong></h6>
        <p><span>Apart from being inspired by all the artists under our collective and label, we&rsquo;re constantly inspired by discovering music &mdash; both contemporary and classic. We&rsquo;ve also been inspired by our co-presenters on Manila Community Radio. During the onset of lockdown, the team has also been consuming a lot of different media from films, books, TV shows and different content creators online. The crew has also found that sports (ones that could be done in isolation) like cycling, tennis, and skateboarding are incredibly rewarding and good for mental wellbeing, especially during the pandemic.</span></p>
        <h6><strong>What are your favorite transit records moments? Any favorite parties, virtual or otherwise?</strong></h6>
        <p><span>Every collaboration has been special in its own way but partnerships with global brands, like Adidas, Commonwealth, and Heineken, have been milestones for our label. </span></p>
        <p><span>In 2017, we were lucky enough to host a series of panel discussions and live performances with Adidas and Commonwealth for their EQT campaign. This series gave us the opportunity to work with some of our local heroes &mdash; Similarobjects, Rhxanders, Pillowtalk, and Justin de Guzman. </span></p>

        <p><span>In 2019, we had the chance to handle the programming for the store re-launches of Hoodwink and Regiment. </span></p>
        <p><span>Last year, we were also lucky enough to work with Heineken on an online party series called &ldquo;Run To The Sun.&rdquo; This party series allowed us to spotlight each and every DJ in our roster of artists and showcase the diversity of styles in our label.</span></p>

<h6><strong>Dream project&mdash;what would it be like? With whom, where? </strong></h6>
<p><span>We would love to have the opportunity to send our DJs abroad and tour alongside our favorite artists and labels. It&rsquo;s our dream to enter dialogue with the broader electronic music scene as champions of Philippine music and talent. </span></p>
<h6><strong>What are you most looking forward to when the pandemic is over? </strong></h6>
<p><span>The team is really excited to push for bigger things in 2021. Alongside keeping to our ethos of providing a space for our community to enjoy music, we&rsquo;re also looking to go far beyond what we&rsquo;ve done before. </span></p>
<p><span>We intend on reaching out to more international radio stations and preparing guest mixes for more established internet stations. Since we&rsquo;re not able to be physically present to tour other countries, we&rsquo;re keen on finding ways to do this digitally. </span></p>
<p><span>Our flagship club night, Evening Breeze, will be unveiling a community project within the next half year. This special program will give transit records and its supporters the opportunity to appreciate music on a deeper level once physical events become possible once again.</span></p>
