Sure, designers have been pushing the accessory in different directions for a few seasons now. Junya Watanabe piled them on as layered accessories. <a href="https://www.lofficielph.com/hommes/willy-chavarria-spring-summer-2026-collection" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Willy Chavarria</a> jammed striped ties into waistbands. At <a href="https://www.lofficielph.com/hommes/louis-vuitton-mens-spring-summer-2026-collection" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Louis Vuitton</a>, they shimmered with metallic threads. It was <a href="https://www.lofficielph.com/hommes/saint-laurent-mens-spring-summer-2026-collection" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Saint Laurent&rsquo;s</a> sleek way, however, that has stuck. On the runway, the fashion house did ties in the exact shade of the shirt and tucked them between buttons.

<a href="https://www.instagram.com/reparerstudio/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">R&eacute;parer</a>, on the other hand, has built its signature La Chemise around the idea of the monochrome tie, a button-down with a matching necktie designed into the look. <a href="https://www.lofficielph.com/hommes/brent-manalo-interview" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Brent Manalo</a>, River Joseph, and <a href="https://www.lofficielph.com/hommes/james-reid-style-evolution-best-looks" target="_blank" rel="noopener">James Reid</a> have all worn it. The brand treats the tie as part of the shirt itself, not an accessory added after the fact, and in doing so pushes the trend forward rather than simply echoing it.

What makes the monochrome shirt-and-tie combo hit is how stripped down it is. No stripes, no patterns&hellip; just the shirt and tie working as one. Simple, but that&rsquo;s exactly why it feels fresh.
The whole thing also lines up with where menswear&rsquo;s headed. Dress codes are still loose, but guys are reaching for sharper details again. A tie is a great way to start.
