By merging high-performance carbon fiber with vibrant pink composite inserts, Hublot has created a marbled material that looks almost digitally rendered. The UR-10 arrives as one of URWERK&rsquo;s most audacious creations, a timepiece that bends familiar watchmaking codes into something radically future-driven. In a single stroke, URWERK reinvents itself while honoring the principles that shaped its identity. And the paradox is truly deliberate. Seen on paper, the UR-10 reads like a rebellion. Its time display looks to be the opposite of the brand&rsquo;s iconic satellite display. Yet, in spirit, it fits perfectly into URWERK&rsquo;s Special Projects family which is the outlier division where the brand toys with the rules of classical horology and rewrites them from scratch. What might look conventional at first glance quickly shifts into something far stranger and far more ambitious. The UR-10 is not a regulator, not a chronograph, not a calendar. It definitely does not measure time in the traditional sense. Instead, it measures motion through space, earning the name SpaceMeter. Its three sub-dials function as miniature astronomical instruments: the EARTH counter at 2 o&rsquo;clock tracks the 10km increments of our planet&rsquo;s daily rotation; the SUN counter at 4 o&rsquo;clock advances in 20km steps to mark every 1000km of Earth&rsquo;s solar orbit; and at 9 o&rsquo;clock, ORBIT fuses both trajectories, creating a dual-scale record of 1000km of rotation and 64000km of orbital travel. It is the universe expressed in mechanical logic.
Flip the watch over and the cosmic narrative continues. Here, a peripheral hand sweeps across a 24-hour scale, mirroring Earth&rsquo;s rotation. Dual engravings, &lsquo;Rotation&rsquo; for clockwise and &lsquo;Revolution&rsquo; for anticlockwise, echo the contradictory rhythms of our own planet&rsquo;s cosmic dance. And, as if those are not enough, the movement introduces yet another breakthrough with URWERK&rsquo;s Double Flow Turbine. Two opposing propellers create controlled air resistance, slowing excess rotor speed and protecting the winding system while producing a hypnotic mechanical display.
The case, just 7.13mm thin, represents a feat of structural ingenuity. Steel and titanium interlock with a longitudinal screw, eliminating the need for a traditional caseband. Clean, minimal and deceptively simple, it is all engineered with extreme precision.
