Two creative forces, known for turning the ordinary into the extraordinary, come together in a collaboration where watchmaking and contemporary art share the same creative language.

Inspired by Jeff Koons’ celebrated Balloon Dog works, the Classic Fusion Balloon Dog translates the emotional language of inflated forms through the art of watchmaking. Limited to 200 pieces per version, this unprecedented collaboration gives the Balloon Dog a new appearance, bringing the sculpture into the world of watchmaking and expanding the boundaries between art and creations designed to be worn on the wrist.
Every detail of the 42 mm Classic Fusion Balloon Dog has been redesigned through Jeff Koons’ creative lens. The slender architecture that is a signature of the Classic Fusion is transformed through inflated forms, softly domed surfaces, and full, rounded curves, creating the impression that the entire watch has been shaped by air pressure. The result is a design that is both playful and unconventional, while still demonstrating the highest level of technical expertise and craftsmanship.

To create this sense of volume and tension, a series of details has been redesigned with a domed structure, from the sapphire crystal and titanium screw heads to the convex dial and sculptural case architecture. Every surface is treated to maintain the impression that pressure remains present within, continuing onto the soft metallic leather strap with its padded effect and subtly rounded attachment points.
As a reference to both the dog and the balloon, the design also features several distinctive details, including a crown modeled after a balloon inflation valve in rubber-coated aluminum, a flexible “balloon tail” detail at 10:30, a Balloon Dog-shaped seconds-hand counterweight, and Super-LumiNova-coated hour markers and hands with a striking inflated effect.

Presented in three versions—mirror-polished stainless steel, red anodized aluminum, and blue anodized aluminum—each material was selected to fully recreate the vivid, saturated colors that have become a signature of Jeff Koons’ work. That creative spirit continues inside the movement, with a specially designed tungsten rotor featuring full, rounded forms that echo the visual language of the overall design.
The Classic Fusion Balloon Dog continues to affirm Hublot’s Art of Fusion philosophy through the meeting of material research and technical innovation. Even the presentation box is designed with inspiration from the Balloon Dog, extending the idea of the softness of inflated forms. The dog motif is finished with a chrome coating matching each version, while a rubber-like surface effect continues to recreate the playful spirit and visual character that runs throughout the design.

From the case architecture, which appears as though it has been inflated with air, to the Manufacture self-winding mechanical movement, the Classic Fusion Balloon Dog by Jeff Koons brings together the innovation, craftsmanship, and boldness that have shaped Hublot’s identity. Developed, crafted, and assembled at the Manufacture in Nyon, the watch reflects the highest standards of quality and reliability pursued by Hublot. Limited to 200 pieces per version, the Classic Fusion Balloon Dog by Jeff Koons is available at selected Hublot boutiques and on the brand’s website. The watch will also be displayed in selected art exhibition spaces, continuing to foster the dialogue between contemporary art and watchmaking.
