The iconic Cape Cod returns in a new 41 mm titanium case, bringing a lighter, sportier feel to one of Hermès' most enduring watch designs.

Few watches have remained as recognizable as the Hermès Cape Cod. First introduced in 1991, its distinctive "square within a rectangle" silhouette has become one of the maison's defining watch designs. More than three decades later, Hermès is giving the icon a fresh update with a new 41 mm titanium version that feels more contemporary while staying true to the original.
The story of the Cape Cod begins, fittingly, by the sea. Designer Henri d'Origny found inspiration during a trip to the Massachusetts peninsula that gives the watch its name. Captivated by its relaxed coastal atmosphere, marinas, and carefree way of life, he translated those impressions into a design that felt elegant without being overly formal.

His breakthrough came from another Hermès icon: the Chaîne d'Ancre motif first introduced in 1938. Borrowing the shape of the anchor chain link for the lugs, d'Origny created the now-famous case architecture that frames a square dial within a rectangular outline—a design that has defined the Cape Cod ever since. The newest model introduces a 41 mm titanium case, giving the collection a more rugged, sporty character. Brushed surfaces are paired with sandblasted case sides, creating subtle contrasts while keeping the watch remarkably lightweight and comfortable on the wrist.

The dial follows the same understated approach. A sandblasted center finished with a Charmilles texture sits beneath a brushed chapter ring, adding visual depth without relying on excessive decoration. Rhodium-plated Arabic numerals and baton hands are coated with Super-LumiNova® for improved legibility, while a bright orange seconds hand injects a welcome burst of color into the otherwise monochromatic display.

Inside beats the automatic H1912 manufacture movement, developed and assembled in Hermès' Swiss workshops. Named after the year the house first entered watchmaking, the calibre operates at 4 Hz, offers a 45-hour power reserve, and displays the hours, minutes, seconds, and a date window at six o'clock.

Water-resistant to 10 bar, the Cape Cod Titanium is paired with interchangeable rubber straps in colors ranging from Naples yellow and Hermès orange to deep blue and black, reinforcing its more adventurous spirit.
For Hermès, time has never been about simply measuring the hours. The new Cape Cod Titanium continues that philosophy, reimagining one of the maison's most recognizable watches with modern materials while preserving the relaxed elegance that has defined it since 1991.
