The limited-edition Royal Oak Concept Flying Tourbillon blends high watchmaking with the world of AMBUSH.

For its latest limited-edition Royal Oak Concept Flying Tourbillon,&nbsp;Audemars Piguet partnered with Yoon Ahn and Verbal, the founders of AMBUSH, on a watch.&nbsp;Limited to 150 pieces, the 38.5mm Royal Oak Concept leans into a more radical kind of minimalism.
The titanium case combines satin-brushed, polished, and microblasted finishes, giving the watch an architectural feel that still looks fluid on the wrist. At the center sits a black aventurine dial scattered with almost star-like reflections, interrupted only by the vivid red flying tourbillon at six o&rsquo;clock.

The red detail becomes the emotional core of the watch. For Verbal, it represents the Earth&rsquo;s core, the original source of movement and time itself, turning the mechanism into something slightly more philosophical than purely technical.
It also takes a more introspective approach to watchmaking. Through the partially skeletonized architecture, the caliber 2982 reveals part of the gear train and barrel beneath the surface, drawing attention back to the movement itself rather than decoration around it. The hand-finished details remain visible throughout, reinforcing the balance between craftsmanship and restraint.

That sense of reduction runs across the entire project. Yoon Ahn explained that the goal was to create something universal and stripped back, a watch capable of moving across different styles and cultures without feeling overly coded. You see that in the more compact proportions, designed to suit a wider range of wrists, as well as the interchangeable black and red rubber straps that subtly shift the mood of the piece.
Since launching in 2002, the Royal Oak Concept line has served as one of Audemars Piguet&rsquo;s main spaces for experimentation, where avant-garde mechanics, unusual materials, and contemporary creative collaborations collide. With Yoon Ahn and Verbal, the collection continues pushing that dialogue further, treating watchmaking not just as engineering, but as culture and visual language too.
