At MNL Fashion Week 2026, Yong Studio starts with the color, print, and texture of the natural world, before gradually letting the palette recede into something quieter.

On Yong Studio’s MNL Fashion Week 2026 runway, there was rarely just one thing to look at.
Leopard print ran across trousers, tops, and bags, while zebra covered looser separates. Patchwork, fringe, tassels, ruffles, and botanical-looking details added another layer of texture, with softer whites eventually changing the pace.
Nature was easy to spot, but Yong Studio did not limit it to the usual flowers and greenery.
The collection starts from a place of abundance, with much of what appears on the runway taking its cues from the colors, patterns, and textures already found in the natural world.

Animal print became one of the clearest threads running through the collection.
Some looks leaned fully into leopard and zebra, while others worked the patterns into tailoring, accessories, and layered separates. The motifs also shifted in scale and color, with blue and brown offering a less expected take on the familiar prints.
Rather than being saved for one statement moment, animal print kept returning in different forms.
For Yong, though, those references come from something much broader. Landscapes, rocks, water, plants, and wildlife have long been part of where she looks for color, texture, and pattern, making nature less of a theme for one season and more of something that continues to shape her work.

Then the runway softened.
White dresses and separates came in flowing fabrics, asymmetric hems, gathered skirts, and ruffles, bringing a lighter, more fluid shift after the stronger prints.
Here, the detail came through the way the fabric was handled. Layers folded and gathered around the body, hems fell at different lengths, and volume gave the silhouettes shape as they moved.
Where the printed looks played with color and pattern, the whites stood out through form and movement.
That contrast is part of what Yong was working through this season. She describes the collection as having “more texture, more contrast, more intention,” pairing almost weathered techniques with the softer, romantic silhouettes already familiar to the brand.

As the show continued, the palette began to recede.
Brighter prints gradually gave way to more muted combinations, before narrowing into the beiges, taupes, and dry earth tones of the final looks.
That shift carries the collection’s larger idea. Yong wanted the show to feel like watching the world change in real time, using the gradual loss of color to reflect on how climate change is altering the natural world she so often looks to for inspiration.
Rather than spelling that out through the clothes, Yong lets the change from one part of the runway to the next carry much of the message.

That same idea of appreciating what is already here extends into how the clothes are made. Menswear returned this season as part of Yong Studio’s largest collection to date, with loose trousers, shirts, and separates taking on the collection’s mix of print, patchwork, and texture.
Deadstock and upcycled fabrics run throughout the collection, continuing a process already central to the label’s ready-to-wear. Yong often begins with the fabric rather than a sketch, allowing the material itself to help determine what it becomes.
That makes the collection’s focus on appreciating what is already here feel built into the clothes from the start.

Even with the runway’s more detailed and dramatic moments, Yong Studio kept wearability in view.
For Yong, the challenge was creating something that could hold its own on the runway while still feeling like Yong Studio. That balance comes through in fluid dresses, relaxed trousers, printed tops, and separates that still feel easy to imagine beyond Fashion Week.
It also brings the collection back to a broader question. While fashion is often focused on what comes next, Yong asks us to consider what is already here, from the planet and the materials we use to the clothes already in our wardrobes.
The collection begins by showing just how much is already there.
By the end, there is a little more reason to appreciate it.
