Gucci will unveil its Cruise 2026 collection on May 15 in Florence, Italy, returning to the city where the House was established in 1921. The show will take place at Palazzo Settimanni, a 15th-century building in the Oltrarno district that houses the Gucci Archive.
The location holds particular significance. Acquired by Gucci in 1953, Palazzo Settimanni has served as a factory, atelier, and showroom over the decades. In 2021, it was reimagined as an archive space that not only preserves the brand&rsquo;s extensive heritage but also functions as a working reference for its ongoing design evolution.
A campaign poster pulled from Gucci&rsquo;s 1922 archives has been released ahead of the show, offering a rare look into the visual language of the brand&rsquo;s early years. This gesture reflects the show&rsquo;s broader context: a considered return to origins that doesn&rsquo;t lean on nostalgia, but rather uses the past as a foundation for what comes next.
