L'Officiel Philippines rounds up the five standout trends from the Panasonic Manila Fashion Festival's comeback season.&nbsp;

For its 12th season, the Panasonic Manila Fashion Festival celebrated via virtual runway shows that included designers from different parts of the Philippines, giving us something to look forward to even while being at home. From our e-front row access, here are the five top trends we spotted on the PMFF catwalks.&nbsp;

Reminiscent of the Victorian period, puffed or mutton sleeves were a response to an era of shapeless silhouettes. While the trend has shone in formal wear (see: Princess Diana's legendary wedding gown), a voluminous arm can be worn on the daily, too. Take notes from Emir Yamamoto, Dino Lloren, Windel Mira, Steph Tan, and Camlu on how to don big sleeves casually.&nbsp;

Everybody loves a good print, be it plaid, paint splatters, or florals. How can we resist when pattern play lends itself to sleek shapes like a double-breasted suit, a streamlined halter dress, or a high-slit maxi? Skin has always ruled the runway, but this season's take on cutouts escalates from a subtle keyhole to a barely-there onesie. From a pastel A-line dress and a tailored romper to a Studio 54-inspired frock, designers like Renan Pacson, Bessie Besana, Chris Diaz, Mark Yaranon, and Steph Tan proved they understood the balance of baring it all and had one thing in common: restraint.

Athleisure is showing no signs of slowing down, but we've seen preferences shift to a much looser silhouette, giving old sportswear staples new life. Using different materials and pairings that included bermuda shorts, floor-length coats, and ruffles were Avel Bacudio, Emir Yamamoto, Alodia Cecilia, Edgar Buyan, and Windel Mira.

Popular among teenagers and aerobics fans in the 80s, midriff crop tops are making a comeback. Designers Chris Diaz, Marc Rancy, and Dexter Alazas make a strong case while presenting them in various lengths &mdash; think a short button-down that sits just on top of your trousers, a modest yet belly button-baring blazer, and then an all-out cropped tank. No matter your choice, this trend doesn't necessarily require washboard abs, just an open mind.
