The French label known for polished nonchalance arrives at Greenbelt 5 with a focused, quietly confident debut.

French label SANDRO has opened its first Manila boutique at Greenbelt 5, bringing with it a pared-down version of Parisian dressing. No heavy branding, no theatrics. Just a clean, edited space and racks of well-cut clothes.
There&rsquo;s something quietly confident about the brand&rsquo;s arrival. The store carries womenswear: slim suiting, soft tailoring, cotton shirting that hangs just so. Nothing too polished, nothing overly relaxed. It's the kind of wardrobe that works in Manila&rsquo;s heat, but doesn&rsquo;t lean into resort clich&eacute;s.

The opening was marked by a private walkthrough&mdash;select press, a few familiar fashion faces, and a short performance that didn&rsquo;t try to be interpretive or grand. It felt more like a nod to the idea of fashion as a mood rather than a show.
&ldquo;We&rsquo;re excited to connect with the new generation of Filipino consumers&mdash;passionate, curious, and with a sharp eye for quality,&rdquo; said founder Evelyne Chetrite. It&rsquo;s a familiar line, but not empty. The brand&rsquo;s success elsewhere has hinged on knowing how to dress people who pay attention but aren&rsquo;t chasing a look.
Inside the store, the aesthetic doesn&rsquo;t drift from the one that&rsquo;s made Sandro a fixture in European capitals: neutral tones, restrained silhouettes, and fabrics that hold their own. Even the lace is subtle. There&rsquo;s denim, but it&rsquo;s not distressed. Dresses hang loose but are cut to suggest shape. The accessories &mdash; leather sandals, small bags &mdash; are designed to sit quietly with the rest.

Anthony T. Huang of SSI Group, which brought the brand in, frames the opening as a timely addition: &ldquo;It&rsquo;s about bringing a slice of Parisian style to Filipino consumers who appreciate refined fashion.&rdquo; He isn&rsquo;t wrong. Manila&rsquo;s fashion scene has moved past the performative. There&rsquo;s a growing appetite for things that are styled, not styled up.
