The brand celebrates its 20th anniversary at New York Fashion Week.

The founders of the fashion house Proenza Schouler - Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez - took inspiration from Spanish culture and adapted it to the modern young generation for the brand's Spring/Summer 2023 collection. The designers have enlivened their classic palette of neutral colors with lime green, acid yellow, bright blue, and yellow gold. The collection was dominated by an abundance of ruffles, typical of flamenco dancers' clothing, seen not only on the sleeves and hems of dresses, but also on the legs of wide trousers. And the dot print, which is also often seen in flamenco costumes, were splattered in varying sizes for an unexpected, modern touch. Sculptural silhouettes, unusual proportions, and massive platform shoes lent the collection a contemporary feel.
The most popular models of today, such as Bella Hadid and Kylie Jenner, could also be seen on the catwalk. Bella showed off a gold thread lace ensemble, featuring a high neck blouse and fringed skirt. Kylie wore a white halter dress, also fringed.
