This 2022, PIOPIO has made a surprise comeback with a limited capsule collection. Founded in 2015 with the goal of showcasing local Philippine textiles, the brand took a pause from launching new collections during the pandemic. While it continued to work with artisans for smaller projects, the label downsized, taking time to rethink its future and its place in the fashion retail space.

The new capsule is a vibrant 62-piece line consisting of both entirely one-of-a-kind pieces and several made in very limited quantities. The collection also includes two collaborations with Colombian brand Magnetic Midnight and Filipino brand Baul.

At the helm of PIOPIO is creative director Paloma Urquijo, who works closely with Audrey Brandenberger to design colorful textiles from different regions across the Philippines. "Our products are handcrafted in the Philippines by artisanal communities using time-honored techniques," Urquijo says. "Every product supports the preservation of cultural traditions."
