At Palazzo Serbelloni, the house presents an immersive installation where Art Deco meets contemporary design.

At Milan Design Week, Louis Vuitton takes over Palazzo Serbelloni with an installation that moves across time. Each room is treated like a chapter, bringing together historical references and new design pieces in a continuous sequence. The Objets Nomades collection sits at the center, framed by shifting colors, materials, and forms.
The visit begins in the Giangaleazzo room with a focus on Pierre Legrain. A key figure of Art Deco, his work reflects a moment when, under Gaston-Louis Vuitton, the house connected travel objects with decorative arts. Archival trunks, small objects, and documents set the tone. The Malle Bureau, originally designed in 1929 for Leopold Stokowski, is presented again here, reintroduced within this context.

From there, the installation unfolds through a series of color-led rooms. In the Gabrio room, a Tikal rug in deep blue and brown anchors a domestic setting where living, dining, and library spaces overlap. In the Napoleonica room, the Hommage &agrave; Pierre Legrain collection brings together large-scale textiles and sculptural furniture, with a more graphic and structured approach.
The Beauharnais room shifts the focus toward Charlotte Perriand, with references that carry into contemporary pieces through alpine-inspired forms and more pared-back lines. In the Parini room, a deep red palette defines the space, shaping it almost like a composition.

The installation also moves into more experimental territory. In the Boudoir, pieces by Estudio Campana introduce objects that sit between design and sculpture, including a kaleidoscopic cabinet, a foosball table with mermaid figures, and a Cocoon piece with shifting, iridescent surfaces. In the Grand Foyer, the Stella armchair by Raw Edges creates a more immersive experience, where perception plays a central role.
In the courtyard, a large-scale installation created with students from Accademia di Brera references Legrain&rsquo;s bookbinding work, translating it into a graphic intervention across the ground.

The project extends beyond the palace. At the boutique on Via Montenapoleone, the house revisits its trunk-making heritage, with pieces like the Malle Courrier Lozine, the Malle Paravent, and the Malle Lit, highlighting the technical side of its history.
Taken together, the installation frames design as both continuity and transformation, moving between past references and present-day interpretations within the same space.
