While the idea of underwear as outerwear has been around for decades now, with the likes of Madonna and Kate Moss helping blur the line during the ‘90s and early 2000s, its renaissance in the mid-2010’s popularized lingerie as a garment that can be styled as part of the outfit rather than simply worn underneath — like the bralette or slip dress over shirt combination that became a distinct street-style trend due to the rise of Tumblr and Instagram.&nbsp;&nbsp;
Now, what was once felt daring and provocative feels almost instinctive, as it has become a part of everyday dressing. Layered over tailoring, paired with casual separates, or styled as a standalone piece, lace and lingerie have stepped out as versatile closet staples. The result? A new generation of artists who are putting their own spin on the lingerie-inspired look.&nbsp;
