After three and a half years as creative director of Nina Ricci, Harris Reed is leaving the French house to focus on his own label.

Harris Reed has announced that he is stepping down as creative director of Nina Ricci after three and a half years in the role. The designer revealed the news on social media just days after presenting his Fall/Winter 2026 show in Paris.&nbsp;Reed, who joined the house in 2022 at just 26 years old, said he will now devote his full attention to the label that bears his name, which shows during London Fashion Week.
&ldquo;Entering a historic maison that not only welcomed but actively supported my imagination has been an indescribable honor,&rdquo; Reed said in a statement. His final show for the brand served as a fitting farewell, a theatrical presentation that echoed the exuberant aesthetic that defined his tenure.
Nina Ricci president Ana Trias publicly thanked the designer for his work, describing his contribution as &ldquo;a luminous chapter&rdquo; in the house&rsquo;s history. The French maison, owned by Puig, has begun the search for a successor.
Reed belongs to a generation of young designers brought in to reinvigorate historic fashion houses. Born in 1997 to Oscar-winning documentary producer Nicholas Reed and model Lynette Reed, he grew up between Los Angeles and London.
A graduate of Central Saint Martins, Reed quickly attracted attention for his theatrical and gender-fluid approach to fashion. His work blends old Hollywood glamour, Victorian romanticism, and a distinctly queer sensibility.&nbsp;Over the years, he has dressed artists such as Harry Styles and Adele, becoming one of the most recognizable voices in contemporary gender-fluid fashion.
Nina Ricci was founded in Paris in 1932 by Maria Nielli, known as Nina, alongside her son Robert Ricci. The maison quickly became known for its soft drapery, romantic silhouettes, and refined femininity.&nbsp;During the 1950s and 1960s, the house reached its peak, aided by the success of the fragrance L'Air du Temps, launched in 1948 and still considered one of the classics of modern perfumery.
After the founders&rsquo; passing, creative direction passed through several notable designers, including Gerard Pipart, who led the house for more than three decades, and later Olivier Theyskens, who brought a darker, gothic sensibility to the brand in the early 2000s.
