K-Pop star Shin Yuna and Chinese actress Tang Yan prove that your bag’s best accessory might be another handbag.

At this point, bag charm culture will never leave the trend cycle. What started as a playful anti-minimalism movement has developed into something closer to a styling language of its own. But the appeal isn't particularly new. Jane Birkin famously treated her namesake Hermès bag less like a sacred luxury object and more like an extension of herself, personalizing and wearing hers without any concern for keeping them pristine. 
Current fashion lovers have simply taken that philosophy and made it bigger, stranger, and more random. Case in point: Fendi's latest purse-layering technique that Asian stars are already making a case for. Instead of hanging another miniature accessory from your handbag, why not make the charm another bag entirely?
There's ITZY's Yuna, who recently stepped out in a full look from Maria Grazia Chiuri's debut Fall/Winter 2026/27 collection for Fendi. Dressed in a crisp white button-down, black tailored skirt, and single-breasted blazer, the K-pop star could have easily stopped at the accessories. Instead, her Fendi Magic Lar Ricamo FF Base tote came layered with a black calfskin Baguette 26424 Re-Edition directly in front, essentially turning one of the house's most recognizable bags into an oversized charm.

Chinese actress Tang Yan has also taken the idea outside the confines of a campaign. During Couture days in Rome, she wore an ecru denim Fendi total look with a roomy Fendi Magic shopping bag, then layered a Baguette over it. Against the tonal outfit, the two-bag combination is all about proportion: the larger tote provides the canvas while the smaller Baguette sits prominently in front like an accessory to the accessory.

It's a clever progression of the bag-charm obsession because it plays with the same premise that luxury feels more interesting when it isn't treated too seriously. The difference is scale. Where the last few seasons encouraged us to pile our bags with toys, trinkets and miniature versions of everyday objects, Fendi is proposing something more fashion-insider: use the It bag itself as the statement.&nbsp;Forget the keychain.
