H&amp;M has announced its next designer collaboration with the Lebanese couturier, bringing his signature glamour to a wider audience this October.

Every girl has, at one point, dreamt of owning an Elie Saab creation. Now, that fantasy may be a little more within reach.
H&amp;M has announced Elie Saab as its next designer collaborator, marking the first time the Lebanese designer will bring his world of haute couture glamour to the high street. Founded in Beirut, Saab began his career more than four decades ago, gaining recognition for his bridal creations before establishing himself on the international fashion stage. He later became one of the first international members of France’s prestigious Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture, with his work going on to define countless red-carpet moments.
For H&amp;M, the appeal is clear. The collection distills the codes of the Elie Saab house into a full wardrobe spanning womenswear, menswear and accessories, including footwear. Expect embellished gowns, shimmering separates and sharply cut tailoring, with fine lace, gradient sequins and the designer’s signature monograms woven throughout.

The collection takes the more extravagant signatures of Saab’s universe and works them into a wardrobe that is considerably broader than occasionwear alone. Alongside floor-sweeping gowns are casual separates, outerwear, tailoring and pieces designed to be mixed into an everyday wardrobe.

Naturally, the gowns are among the collection’s main attractions, with standout pieces including a gradient green dress with a thigh-high slit, a sculptural black gown with an exaggerated bow and train, and a strapless gold number covered in intricate beadwork and sequins. But the Saab glamour extends beyond eveningwear. Sharply cut tailoring, sequined separates, lace, faux fur, gradient leather and monogrammed casual pieces bring the designer’s signature codes into a more versatile wardrobe. Menswear follows suit with monogrammed shirting, tuxedo tailoring and elevated everyday pieces, while accessories continue the collection’s gradient and monogram stories through rhinestone jewelry, embellished gloves, croc-effect bags, platform heels and scarves.
For Elie Saab, the collaboration is ultimately about making the house’s world more accessible without losing the spirit behind it.

To understand how this collaboration came together — and how Elie Saab and H&amp;M approached translating the designer’s couture codes into a complete wardrobe — H&amp;M shared a conversation between Ann-Sofie Johansson, Elie Saab, and Elie Saab Jr., Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Elie Saab, to talk about the collection, the creative process and what it means to bring the Saab universe to a new generation.
Why did this feel like the right time for H&amp;M to collaborate with Elie Saab, and for Elie Saab to collaborate with H&amp;M?
Ann-Sofie Johansson: We felt that this was the perfect moment for a partnership with Elie Saab: a house steeped in glamour and couture savoir-faire. Elie Saab is a designer we have always respected – the journey from master of bridal in Beirut to the centre of Paris Fashion Week and the world of haute couture is an amazing, rich story. And we haven’t done a collaboration that focused on gowns, dressing up and tailoring, for a while. So now felt like the perfect moment for Elie Saab H&amp;M. It’s a magical collection, truly.
Elie Saab Jr: It felt like the right moment because the Elie Saab brand is entering a new phase of its evolution. We are expanding our global footprint and, importantly, strengthening ready-to-wear as a key driver of growth alongside couture. We’re also seeing a significant increase in engagement from younger audiences, particularly in the 18–25 segment. This collaboration allows us to respond to that momentum in a meaningful way. Partnering with H&amp;M gives us the scale and accessibility to reach a broader, more diverse audience while staying true to our creative vision. It’s about opening the door to the brand, inviting a new generation to become part of the Elie Saab world. For us, it’s both a strategic move and a natural extension of our ambition to grow the brand with discipline and intent, without compromising its identity.
Mr Saab, how did you conceive of the collaboration: is it about classics from your archive, or a more specific vision of the Elie Saab brand today?
Elie Saab: This collection is a reflection of who we are. Each piece carries the essence of our identity: timeless, yet always evolving. There is a dialogue between modernity and the codes that define the house. Throughout the years, I’ve had the privilege of dressing generations of women from grandmothers to daughters, and their daughters after them. There is something very meaningful in seeing a piece passed on, or reinterpreted by each generation in their own way. This sense of continuity, of shared stories and emotions, is at the heart of the collection. It is not simply a wardrobe for one woman, but for many women, for different moments, different ages, different lives. A collection that lives, evolves, and connects women across time.
Ann-Sofie Johansson: We love to offer our customers plenty of variety and this collection does that so beautifully. I can see people styling the little faux fur jacket or tailored jackets with jeans for an everyday look. But equally you can wear the gowns, with all the embellishments, for the most special occasions and one-of-a-kind moments. Then there is the amazing, tailored coat, which could become a staple that makes you feel strong, smart, elevated. It’s a range of pieces, for all contexts.
Talk to us about distilling the Elie Saab spirit and signatures into this collection?
Elie Saab: I was deeply involved in every step of the process and truly enjoyed immersing myself in all the details, approaching it with the same care and dedication as I would my own collection. It was important to me that each element felt considered, from the construction to the finishing touches. The collection is true to the identity of the house: the balance between structure and fluidity, a sense of lightness, the richness of embellishment. For me, elegance is personal. It is about how each woman connects with a piece, how she makes it her own. This collection reflects that, a versatility that allows every woman, at different moments in her life, to find something that resonates with her
Ann-Sofie Johansson: We have loved watching Mr Saab in the studio. He is, as he says, so hands-on. Seeing him craft and drape some of the pieces, including the remarkable black floor length gown, with the oversized bow, directly onto the body of his fit models was so inspiring. We were thrilled by the level of attention: the desire to be super specific and intentional with every detail, every piece. I could see the passion, and the commitment to his craft.
What do you consider the hero pieces or key accessories of the collection to be? And do you have a favourite piece within the collection as a whole?
Elie Saab: I am very happy with the collection as a whole. Every look has its own meaning, its own story, and speaks to a different kind of woman, depending on her moment and her personality. That was very important to me - that there is not just one interpretation, but many. For that reason, I cannot really choose a favourite piece. Each one carries something of the house, and each one has its own purpose within the collection. I prefer to leave that discovery to the clients!
Ann-Sofie Johansson: I think the gowns are incredibly special. We know our customers will love them: doesn't matter where they are based, how old they are, what occasion they have coming up. Everyone will love this collection. It's so glamorous. It's super feminine and really eye-catching. Personally, for my own wardrobe, it’s the tailoring I am keen on. The men’s tuxedo trousers look amazing. From the womenswear, the cape is going to be finding a place in my wardrobe: so dramatic, but timeless, cool and super wearable.
Who does Elie Saab hope to reach with this collection – do you see the breadth and diversity of H&amp;M’s audience as an exciting opportunity area?
Elie Saab Jr: H&amp;M’s reach allows us to open the doors of our world to people who may not have experienced it before, and to offer them pieces that feel meaningful, accessible, and true to the spirit of the brand. We see this as the beginning of a dialogue with a new customer, one that is curious, diverse, and global. It is about meeting people where they are, while introducing them to the codes and identity of the house in a new way.
Elie Saab: This collaboration is very meaningful to me because it allows the house to reach a broader scope of women, each with her own life, her own rhythm, and her own way of dressing. That openness feels very natural today. What has always driven my work is the desire to enhance a woman’s beauty and presence through what she wears. Here, that intention is extended to a wider audience, while staying fully aligned with the identity of the house. It is also very rewarding because I know it will resonate on both sides, with those discovering the brand for the first time, and with those who have followed it for many years.
