Whether it was at fashion week in New York, Paris, London, or Milan, the drop waist silhouette is one trend we've seen nonstop this season.&nbsp;

With mom jeans and similar <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/new-baggy-denim-jeans-trend">high-waisted</a> styles on the out, the ultra-low, <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/ready-to-wear-again">Y2K</a>-esque waistline has returned to the spotlight in all forms&mdash;jeans, <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/shopping/12-must-have-black-mini-skirts-to-shop-this-fall-style-inspiration-fashion-fall-2023">skirts</a>, and dresses alike. In response to the sudden resurgence of this dramatically lower waistline, the <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion-week/fashion-trends-spring-summer-2024-runways">Spring/Summer 2024 runways</a> worldwide have gone even lower and offered the drop waist.&nbsp;
With a drop waist style, the garment is fitted much <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/low-rise-jeans-trend">lower</a>, usually falling around the <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/music/shakira-hips-dont-lie-best-photos">hips</a> rather than the waist, creating the illusion of a longer torso and a more accentuated <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/zendaya-corset-pinstripe-suit-vivienne-westwood">hourglass</a> figure, which is just one reason why the style has been a favorite among designers this season.&nbsp;

Although the drop waist has been slowly inching back into the spotlight for months, with standout moments earlier this year on style icons like <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/pop-culture/kendall-jenner-bad-bunny-dating-timeline">Kendall Jenner</a>, <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/jennifer-lawrence-longines-mini-dolcevita-watch">Jennifer Lawrence</a>, and Anne Hathaway, it had a huge presence during fashion weeks around the world, especially making itself known in New York and <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/travel-living/what-to-do-in-paris-trip-inspiration-travel">Paris</a>, at shows like <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion-week/khaite-spring-summer-2024-nyfw-runway-images">Khaite</a>, <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/bows-trend-hair-ribbons-nyfw-spring-summer-2024-fashion">Sandy Liang</a>, and Marni, among many others. The influence of the drop waist has surpassed the runways though, as seen on celebrities like <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/phoebe-dynevor-bridgerton-actress-interview" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Phoebe Dynevor</a>, Kylie Jenner, and <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/halle-bailey-hanni-julia-garner-gucci-horsebit-1955-bag-new-faces">Julia Garner</a>, surely marking a big return for the trend.
