For Fall/Winter 2026, Demna makes his Gucci debut with a collection where Renaissance references, raw sensuality, and sharp pragmatism collide.

Gucci has always carried its contradictions on the surface. For Demna, stepping into the house for Fall/Winter 2026 is less about rupture and more about transformation. His first show reads like a recalibration, heritage pulled into the present and filtered through a radical focus on the body.
Set within a monumental, almost museum-like space lined with marble sculptures, the show opened with a clear statement. Italy&rsquo;s artistic memory loomed large, shaped by Demna&rsquo;s time in Florence and his encounters with Botticelli&rsquo;s Primavera and The Birth of Venus at the Uffizi. That emotional charge translated into a collection obsessed with proportion, desire, and physical presence.

It began with a seamless white knit minidress, worn like a second skin, technical and sensual at once. The body remained central throughout. Ultra-fitted T-shirts sculpted athletic torsos, while evening looks in lace and lurex satin cut close and suggestive traced every curve. On the runway, Kate Moss, Emily Ratajkowski, Alex Consani, and Vittoria Ceretti embodied that tension between glamour and control.
Demna revisited house codes without hesitation. The visible thong, a nod to the Tom Ford era, resurfaced over low-rise leggings. Hips were exposed, but with almost architectural precision. Tailoring softened into something fluid, nearly liquid, with jackets designed to shift across skirts, leggings, or classic trousers. The wardrobe operated like a system, adaptable but intentional.

Archetypes were pulled apart and fused back together. Tracksuits morphed into &ldquo;trackdresses.&rdquo; Leggings blended into trousers. Jackets and tops merged into one ultra-fitted piece. Footwear followed suit, sneakers streamlined like sports car bodies, blurring the line between performance and polish.
Materials reinforced the push and pull. Feather embroidery framed the face. Bubble jackets hugged the torso. Shearling intarsia and supple leather introduced tactility. Heat-bonded edges, curved hems, and seamless constructions pointed to technical rigor designed for ease and clarity.

Ancient references surfaced in modern form. Draped elements evoked Greek statuary but landed over skate-inspired T-shirts. A white dress hinted at Venus rising from foam. Then the mood shifted toward celebration, embroidered sets worn barefoot, slashed minidresses, a backless gown revealing a diamond-set white gold GG thong. The excess felt deliberate, rooted in Gucci&rsquo;s dramatic history.
Accessories completed the picture. The Bamboo 1947 bag returned in a pared-back volume with a soft leather handle. Archive minaudi&egrave;res resurfaced. The Manhattan sneaker stood alongside supple Giovanni and Cupertino loafers. Even the belt bag, once dismissed, reappeared worn across the chest. Carrying a bag tucked into the crook of the arm, a gesture straight from the 2000s, felt newly charged.
Demna has been clear about his intent. He isn&rsquo;t interested in an abstract, intellectual Gucci. He wants a house that is felt. In this debut, heritage and immediacy sit side by side, shaping a language built on tension, desire, and a luxury that remains grounded in the body.
