Clio De Leon shared her story and the latest collection as she talked to <em>L' Officiel</em> about art, design, and CLIODL.&nbsp;</span></p>

        <p><strong>What's your story behind choosing to be a designer and artist?</strong></p>
        <p><span>My exposure to various art mediums and techniques began to emerge in elementary, where several of my projects were chosen and displayed on our school premises. Because of that, it really made me happy and confident in my artistic abilities, which eventually made me realize that I wanted to pursue a career related to the arts. Then, unexpectedly, during my senior year of high school, my passion for fashion developed to the point where I made a decision to pursue a career in fashion, which is still considered to be in the arts field. For this reason, I took the chance and majored in fashion design and merchandising in college. It was also a wonderful opportunity and eye-opening experience that led me to discover my identity as a designer where I was able to incorporate my love for arts into my designs.</span></p>

        <p><strong>Where do you find Inspiration?</strong></p>
        <p><span>Everything around me can serve as a source of inspiration, despite how cliche it may sound. But if I had to pick one, I'd say strong, independent women who can handle anything. I want to be like them, someone who has influence in their own unique way. A person with the capacity to inspire others through their creative platforms.</span></p>

                <p><span>CLIO DL by Clio De Leon </span><span>specializes in womenswear, from RTW to custom-made. I wanted my brand to be versatile and not restricted to a particular style or category because I like to juxtapose my designs where I combine feminine details with masculine cuts and minimalist silhouettes with artistic prints. As I do not want to be confined by the constraints of feminine style, I made the decision to buck the idea of traditional femininity. I also coveted to inspire women, and make them feel confident, liberated, and empowered whenever they wore my pieces.</span></p>

        <p><strong>What's next?</strong></p>
        <p><span>As a recent graduate, I am still trying to explore and learn new things that will help me grow as an individual, an artist, and a designer. Lately, I am just exposing myself to the real world, particularly in the fashion industry by taking opportunities that come along my way like the MaArte fair or things that I do not get to experience or learn from school. And, as we all know, experiencing things firsthand is different from learning in school. That being said, I just hope that people will look forward to seeing me and my brand grow and evolve in the future.</span></p>
