With immersive retro vignettes, a true vintage flea market, and the return of iconic timepieces like the A158WA-1A, the brand proved once again that timeless style doesn&rsquo;t just endure; it evolves.

Tomoaki Nakamura, CASIO&rsquo;s Regional General Manager from Sales and Marketing Timepiece Division, offers this thought like a soft overture &mdash; something you tuck into the back of your mind until the night unfurls and you realize he was, in fact, describing the entire experience. Because at The Warehouse in Talat Noi, Bangkok&rsquo;s new creative nerve center, time didn&rsquo;t feel fixed. It felt elastic. The kind that stretches over decades without breaking, making the &lsquo;70s, &lsquo;80s, and &lsquo;90s feel not nostalgic but strangely current.

The CASIO Vintage &ldquo;Back in Time, Ahead in Style&rdquo; celebration unfolded inside a cavernous industrial space reimagined as a series of time-bending vignettes. Walk a few steps and you&rsquo;re in a &lsquo;70s living room&mdash;amber lighting, corduroy textures, the faint illusion of analog warmth. Turn a corner and suddenly you&rsquo;re in an &lsquo;80s kitsch and over-the-top with the trappings of glamorous excess. Then the &lsquo;90s hits you with a kind of soft rebellion of the internet: game-core, crude but cool tech and the unmistakable hum of something familiar but forgotten. It was impossible not to take photos. Everyone did, with their phones held up like compasses trying to locate which decade they&rsquo;d wandered into.
And just when you think it&rsquo;s all aesthetic fantasy, a flea market materializes, stocked with actual vintage paraphernalia: old records, retro toys, relics that look as though they&rsquo;d been waiting for this precise moment to be loved again. It didn&rsquo;t feel curated so much as unearthed, like someone cracked open a time capsule and let its contents mingle casually with the present. That, more than anything, anchored the event in something tactile &mdash; nostalgia you could touch, buy, carry home.
It made perfect sense, then, to witness the resurgence of the A158WA-1A, the modest little watch that somehow outmaneuvered time itself. Joined by the A230, a set of Future Classics, and quirky favorites like the Casio Ring Watch and AQ240, the lineup read like a family portrait: each model distinct, all of them unmistakably CASIO. Retro in lineage, yes, but right-now in attitude.

Marie Yoshizawa, Marketing Strategy Specialist, traced this evolution back to the people who embraced the brand long before vintage was a trend. &ldquo;Casio Vintage has grown thanks to the fashion and creative communities&hellip; We focused on practicality, not fashion. But somehow fashion-conscious people and the creative community discovered Casio Vintage and started wearing it.&rdquo; Her tone is light, almost amused by the serendipity of it all, before adding, &ldquo;Those communities helped us reach audiences we couldn&rsquo;t have reached with product development alone.&rdquo;
Design, of course, is the architecture behind this timelessness. Shinji Saito, General Manager of Product Planning, pulls back the curtain: &ldquo;Trends are truly the starting point of development&hellip; countless materials and forms of expression may work in clothing or footwear but cannot be used in watches.&rdquo; You sense the ongoing tug-of-war between imagination and engineering, a negotiation that spans years and, in some cases, decades. &ldquo;That&rsquo;s why we feel trends play a key role in watch development.&rdquo;
Then comes Mizuki Nomura, Product Strategy Specialist, who speaks to the dialogue between object and wearer: &ldquo;Collaborations, styling, and content partnerships&hellip; add fresh perspectives and interpretations that we might not easily discover on our own.&rdquo; It&rsquo;s a reminder that style is communal, passed from wrist to wrist, culture to culture.

And cultures did converge here. Filipino creatives Ida Anduyan, Jeanette Ong, Ashley Garcia, and others drifted through the space wearing their chosen CASIO Vintage pieces the way one wears something familiar &mdash; lightly, without explanation. Thai stars Force, June, Bam, and more mirrored that ease, their looks carrying a distinctly local swagger: relaxed silhouettes, layered textures, a kind of insouciant cool that Bangkok seems to produce organically. Watches became punctuation marks in outfits that said plenty without speaking.
By nightfall, the venue shifted into a looser rhythm: ABOY&rsquo;s live performance vibrating through the industrial beams, dancers sliding between decades of soundscapes, guests lingering in corners as if hoping time might stretch just a little more. The Warehouse didn&rsquo;t feel like an event space anymore, but a portal.
CASIO Vintage suggested something quieter: that the past is never really past, and the future isn&rsquo;t as far away as we think. Sometimes, all it takes is a small digital face on your wrist to remind you that time moves forward, but culture loops &mdash; inevitably, stylishly.
