&ldquo;I think this collection is a narrative of my response to what we have been living with for the past [months],&rdquo; shares Joseph Bagasao, the brand's Creative Director.

<span style="background-color: transparent; font-family: inherit; font-size: inherit; font-style: inherit; font-variant-ligatures: inherit; font-variant-caps: inherit; font-weight: inherit; letter-spacing: 0px;">Daydreaming and escapism in a time of restricted travel is the central mood for BAGAS&Aacute;O&rsquo;s Spring/Summer 2022 collection, titled Oasis, inspired by the colorful frenzy of Marrakech markets and the pristine seascapes, dreamy country homes, and elegant women lensed by photographer Slim Aarons.

For the 25-look line, BAGAS&Aacute;O Creative Director Joseph Bagasao drew up a certain relaxed femininity. Flowy silk tunic dresses and airy white shirts billow over ecru pencil skirts, or come lightly cinched with a soft corset then tucked under boxy bermuda shorts. There are heavy hoops made with gold-plated brass, a cowboy hat done in artfully frayed straw. &ldquo;I think this collection is a narrative of my response to what we have been living with for the past [months],&rdquo; shares Bagasao. &ldquo;I have been trying to fly and circle around the sky through my imagination.&rdquo;

The overall feel is lightness and simple, languid structure. And yet, up close, finer technical touches become evident &mdash; a polka-dot pattern achieved through embroidering tufts of thread to the fabric, hand-pleated drapes exaggerating the balloon of a skirt, strategically placed darts to guide the flare of a wide-leg culottes.

&ldquo;I realize I have been trying to capture a lot of emotion, especially feelings of warmth and freedom,&rdquo; notes Bagasao. Oasis is both a distillation and a refinement of BAGAS&Aacute;O house strengths: constructing understandable shapes and lacing them with special details.&nbsp;
