At Bench Fashion Week 2022, fashion label Antonina presented its dark, moody Spring/Summer 2023 collection, titled Anino, on models appearing on the runway in alternating bursts of darkness and light, like apparitions. "In this personal collection, Antonina wishes to express the dimension of shadows occupying spaces and escaping a source of light," founder and head designer Nina Amoncio shares. A somber, subtle take on exaggerated silhouettes and cutouts, Anino mirrors another side of the brand's existing surface.

Amoncio's designs are highly introspective, often inspired by her own experiences, socially-relevant issues, and sentiments. She experiments with fabrication and hand-sewing techniques, playing with textures, threadwork, and prints. As a young designer, Amoncio challenges her own sartorial preferences and depictions of issues in the Philippines through her growing brand.
