Following their debut in November 2020, the septet have spent the past year-and-a-half on a nonstop winning streak, gathering &lsquo;Rookie of the Year&rsquo; accolades at various top Asian awards shows and bagging New Artist of the Year honors at the Gaon Chart Music Awards less than two months post-debut.</p>

<h4>1. They&rsquo;re the final seven contestants of the music survival show <em>I-Land</em>.</h4>

<p>Whittled down from 23 talented hopefuls, ENHYPEN is made up of the final seven contestants of the popular reality show <em>I-Land</em>. Driven by a rank system based on fan votes, the series saw potential idols compete against each other while training under influential mentors like HYBE founder Bang Si-hyuk and vocalists Rain and Zico, among others.</p>

<h4>2.&nbsp;The group has members from South Korea, the US, Australia, and Japan.</h4>

<p>That they&rsquo;re a multinational septet definitely contributes to the fun of their daily lives: &ldquo;We discover a lot of fun cultural differences [between us] day after day. We usually communicate in Korean, but the way we react to certain things in English now shows how much we&rsquo;ve rubbed off on each other.&rdquo;</p>

<h4>3. Their team name takes its roots from the hyphen symbol.</h4>

<p>Just as a hyphen connects different words to make new definitions, ENHYPEN aims to connect, discover, and grow with each other and their fans, the ENGENEs.</p>

<p>Pronounced like &ldquo;engine&rdquo;, ENGENE has two meanings: first, that their fans are the engines that keep ENHYPEN going, and second, that ENGENEs are ENHYPEN's genes, sharing the same core DNA and desire for growth and connection.</p>
