For a generation raised on Hogwarts, Harry Potter: A Yule Ball Celebration brings the magic of the wizarding world to Manila with an evening of dancing, dressing up, and a little enchantment.

There are few scenes in the Harry Potter universe quite as instantly recognisable as the Yule Ball.
In Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Hogwarts trades its usual school-day routine for something altogether more glamorous. The Great Hall is transformed into a winter ballroom, students emerge in formal robes and gowns, and, for one evening, the familiar awkwardness of adolescence takes on a little more grandeur.
It is this world that has now found its way to Manila.
Harry Potter: A Yule Ball Celebration brings the much-loved Hogwarts tradition to The Space at Solaire, inviting fans into an evening of live entertainment, music, games, dancing and immersive experiences. Presented by Warner Bros. Discovery Global Experiences and Fever in collaboration with GMG Productions, the celebration runs until December 13.
Of course, no Yule Ball would be complete without the clothes.
Guests are encouraged to arrive in formalwear, whether that means an elegant evening gown, a sharply cut suit, Hogwarts house colours or a more theatrical interpretation of wizarding style. Robes and wands are also available at the venue for those inclined to embrace the fantasy completely.
Once inside, the evening unfolds as a distinctly interactive affair. Guests are sorted into their Hogwarts houses before taking part in trivia, wand duels, a fashion catwalk and other activities, eventually making their way to the Champions Waltz, the formal dance inspired by the film.

Actors interact directly with guests, house representatives encourage competition between Gryffindor, Slytherin, Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff, and the distinction between audience and performer becomes deliberately blurred. Rather than observing Hogwarts from a distance, guests are given a role within it.&nbsp;
Manila, however, gives the fantasy its own character.
The local celebration incorporates Filipino performances and music into the programme, bringing contemporary Manila into the otherwise distinctly Hogwarts setting. Opening celebrations featured dance-offs set to music from SB19, BINI and It’s Showtime’s Babydolls.
Beyond the ballroom, the experience extends into a marketplace carrying official merchandise, while themed food and drinks give guests another way to inhabit the world. There are also dedicated photo settings, including Hogwarts house backdrops and a replica of the Goblet of Fire.

For those who first discovered Hogwarts between the pages of a book or beneath the glow of a cinema screen, the Yule Ball was one of those Hogwarts moments that felt almost impossibly glamorous.
It was the promise of an evening unlike any other: of candlelit halls dressed for winter, of velvet and silk replacing school robes, of house colours worn with pride and the delicious uncertainty of finding someone to dance with. For a few hours, the ordinary world seemed to fall away, replaced by something grander, stranger, and just a little more enchanted.
More than two decades after the Yule Ball first appeared on screen, its magic has hardly diminished. Beneath the magic, it is really about dressing up, being with your friends, and enjoying an evening that feels a little different from the rest.
In Manila, Hogwarts is no longer simply a place to imagine. For one night, at least, it is somewhere you can actually go.
