Singaporean artist Estelle Fly returns with her first single of the year,&nbsp;"Bury it," speaking to L'Officiel Philippines about creative freedom, trusting her instincts, and stepping into her self-described "era of desire”.

Some feelings never get the chance to become anything more. They're the almost-confessions, the lingering glances, and the crushes you keep to yourself. Estelle Fly's new single, Bury it, is about exactly that.
The Singaporean singer-songwriter returns with her first release of 2026, a dreamy pop track about wanting someone you know you can't fully have. Instead of chasing a happy ending, Bury it stays in the uncertainty, where attraction, longing, and restraint all exist at once.
"Bury it feels like both an ending and a beginning," Estelle says. "It's an era where I finally have the freedom to explore ideas and emotions I've always wanted to write about, not just love, but longing, vulnerability, confidence, attraction, and all the beautifully complicated parts of being human."
Before going solo, Estelle was part of the Singaporean-Malaysian J-pop-inspired idol group Sea*A. Since becoming an independent artist, she's released her EP ZONE, performed at Waterbomb Singapore, and was recently selected as one of Spotify's 2026 RADAR artists.
Speaking with L'Officiel Philippines, Estelle says she's become more comfortable standing by her own ideas.
"I'm definitely not afraid to take ownership of the creative decisions that I've made," she says. "Trusting my own instincts is super scary, but it's also one of the most rewarding decisions I've made thus far."
Estelle wanted the song to feel "intimate and somewhat hypnotic," like being caught in a memory you don't want to leave.
"Sometimes the strongest emotions are not the ones we confess, but the ones that we keep to ourselves," she says. "The feeling of wanting someone and choosing not to act on it is exciting, confusing, and strangely addictive all at once."
The music video explores those same emotions from another angle. Estelle plays an actor who is repeatedly cast opposite the same co-star as each other's love interest. As everyone around them comments on their chemistry, the line between performance and reality starts to blur.
That willingness to sit with uncertainty extends to her songwriting, too. Looking back, Estelle says she spent years trying to fit into an image or a particular sound. Now, she's far more interested in following her instincts.

"I'm much more comfortable embracing the complexity of life and emotions," she says. "I'm a lot less afraid to experiment a little bit more and be more honest in the stuff I've felt growing up."
After years of finding her footing as a solo artist, she's no longer trying to fit into one image or one sound. Instead, she's giving herself the space to follow her instincts, wherever they take her next. Bury it may be about keeping certain feelings hidden, but it also introduces the most honest version of Estelle Fly yet.
