The haute couturier brings his sculptural world to Johnnie Walker Blue Label.

Robert Wun has built his career on creating clothing that feels alive. His couture pieces are cinematic and sculptural. So when <a href="https://www.lofficielph.com/categories/johnnie-walker" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Johnnie Walker</a> invited him to design its <a href="https://www.johnniewalker.com/en-ph/our-whisky/limited-editions/lunar-new-year-horse-limited-edition-design" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Year of the Horse limited-edition Blue Label bottle</a>, he approached it the same way he would a garment. The bottle features a horse in motion, rendered in deep, layered blues, running alongside a figure dressed in Wun&rsquo;s couture. Rather than portraying the horse as a symbol to be contained, Wun lets it run freely.
&ldquo;I think there's beauty in everything, if you put your heart, your soul and your craftsmanship and commitment into it,&rdquo; Wun says. &ldquo;Being able to work with Johnnie Walker&mdash;a brand with such legacy and a strong identity&mdash;has been incredibly rewarding. Pushing boundaries is integral to storytelling. For the Year of the Horse, this connection felt especially meaningful, the horse charges forward&mdash;symbolizing optimism and a relentless drive to push boundaries.&rdquo;

For Wun, whose pieces are worn by artists like Beyonc&eacute; and Lady Gaga, the challenge was translating couture into an entirely different object. Where garments rely on tactile qualities, the bottle had to express those ideas through form and imagery alone.
The collaboration marks a shift in how Johnnie Walker approaches its Lunar New Year editions. The annual release has become some sort of a collector&rsquo;s tradition. And bringing in a couturier, adds a new dimension, especially as Wun made history as the first Hong Kong&ndash;born designer to join the official Paris Haute Couture calendar.

Nothing has changed inside, however, and that&rsquo;s the point. Blue Label remains one of Johnnie Walker&rsquo;s rarest blends, drawn from just one in 10,000 casks. The classic notes of honey, vanilla, spice, and dark chocolate are there, finishing with its signature lingering smokiness.
Wun also extended his design to the John Walker &amp; Sons XR 21 Year Old, applying the same visual language to a whisky known for its layered warmth and smooth finish. Together, the bottles feel like works of art.
