From classic rock anthems to modern OPM favorites, the Manila Philharmonic brings a fresh twist to the hits you love in &lsquo;MPO ROCKS!&rsquo;

The Manila Philharmonic Orchestra is set for another major show this month. After the sold-out success of their 25th anniversary concert, they return with &lsquo;MPO ROCKS!&rsquo; on November 29 at the Samsung Performing Arts Theater.
This year&rsquo;s production takes the orchestra in a different direction, blending their signature symphonic sound with well-loved rock and pop anthems. The concert features the Philippine Madrigal Singers, Bituin Escalante, and MiG Ayesa, bringing together voices that can match the scale and energy of the arrangements.

Audiences can expect orchestral versions of classics and modern hits, from Queen and Coldplay to OPM staples like the Eraserheads. It&rsquo;s a lineup designed to be familiar, but presented in a way that highlights what the MPO does best.

Leading the program is MPO founder Maestro Rodel Colmenar, whose early love for rock music helped spark the idea for this concert. &ldquo;I often wondered how rock songs would sound with orchestral arrangements,&rdquo; he says. &ldquo;This felt like the right time to finally try it.&rdquo;

While the orchestra takes the spotlight, the impact goes beyond the performance. Part of the ticket sales from &lsquo;MPO ROCKS!&rsquo; will support the PARC Foundation&rsquo;s PARC Aralan program, giving young, underprivileged artists access to training and opportunities they might not otherwise have.
