This idea is brought to life in Luz de Flores &mdash; the latest collaboration between Philippine design studio VENZON and designer JJ Acu&ntilde;a that draws inspiration from blooming flowers. From wall lamps and pendants to floor and table lamps, the collection transforms light fixtures into sculptural statements that bring softness, movement, and a touch of whimsy into contemporary spaces.&nbsp;

Long known for the grandeur of its bespoke chandeliers and sculptural objets d&rsquo;art, VENZON took a more intimate direction with Luz de Flores &mdash; reflecting the studio&rsquo;s evolution of making its designs more personal and accessible. &ldquo;Luz de Flores marks a new chapter of world-building that expands beyond the scale and context that people usually associate with the brand,&rdquo; shared VENZON Brand Director Alexis Venzon. &ldquo;[The collection] became our way of opening the world of VENZON to people who deeply appreciate local design and craftsmanship, but may live in smaller spaces or simply want something more approachable and flexible for everyday life.&rdquo;

Originally conceived for a clinic project in Singapore, the collection was born of Acu&ntilde;a&rsquo;s desire to design lighting pieces that would introduce a sense of ease and expression into an otherwise sterile environment. &ldquo;We wanted to create timeless wall accents that were iconic statement pieces, but made the space softer and more relaxed,&rdquo; he explained. &ldquo;Clinics can be a serious space, so we wanted to make sure we designed lamps that added easy and whimsy into the room.&rdquo;

From that initial vision, it soon blossomed into a fully realized collection defined by both function and feeling. Combining conceptual design with practical performance, several pieces feature rechargeable lighting systems and dimmable touch controls, making it a portable and versatile piece that could fit any corner of the room &mdash; innovations that introduce a new dimension to VENZON&rsquo;s growing design language. Whether serving as wall accents or tabletop objects, the lamps are designed to adapt fluidly to modern lifestyles, shifting effortlessly through uses and space.&nbsp;

While flexibility guided the collection&rsquo;s process, Acu&ntilde;a was also equally focused on making the design lighthearted yet polished. &ldquo;I feel like in general, the world needs more wall sconces and fun floor lamps,&rdquo; he said. &ldquo;Some iconic and decorative lighting can feel too masculine or streamlined, and extravagant. For me, I just felt the market needed well-crafted pieces that are urban, whimsical, and easy.&rdquo;
Behind their intricate and expressive form, its creation demands an exceptional level of precision at every stage. Here enter the artisans of VENZON&rsquo;s workshop in Pampanga, whose years of experience in the studio&rsquo;s technically demanding bespoke practice are evident in every stage of production &mdash; from laser-cutting and welding to assembly and hand-finishing. Through Luz de Flores, the design and manufacturing brand continues to bridge heritage craftsmanship with a more contemporary design sensibility, expanding what locally made lighting can become.
