With the support of La Prairie, the Centre Pompidou presents its first major exhibition dedicated to women artists called &ldquo;Women in Abstraction.&rdquo;&nbsp;

A unique reinterpretation of the history of abstraction from its origins to the 1980s &mdash; Women in Abstraction, on view from 19 May to 23 August 21, is a multimedia assemblage of works, bringing to light the works of women artists that lack visibility beyond the borders of their home countries.
 Organized by Christine Macel, General Curator, and Karolina Lewandowska, Associate Curator of Photography, it comprises more than 500 works of women artists in a chronological display combining plastic arts, dance, photography, films, and decorative arts.

At the core of La Prairie&rsquo;s partnership with the Centre Pompidou lies an unwavering commitment to the arts and development of culture. Women in Abstraction is an homage to Niki de Saint Phalle, the muse behind the cobalt blue of Skin Caviar, La Prairie&rsquo;s iconic collection. La Prairie proudly celebrates the life and work of the distinguished artist, an avant-garde woman who dedicated her life not only to an ideal of social and racial equality but also to gender equity.
Christine Macel, the General Curator of Centre Pompidou describes the importance of&nbsp;Women in Abstraction, &ldquo;Revisiting the history of abstraction is first and foremost to enable women artists to take their rightful place in it. It is also to rethink abstraction beyond painting, through various expressions that contributed to its emergence, namely the spiritual, science, decorative arts, and dance. Last but not least, it is to go beyond the Western canon to include other definitions related to different cultural areas."&nbsp;
Women in Abstraction boasts a wide range of works organically shared between La Prairie and the Centre Pompidou: Swissness &mdash; through the exhibition of works by Swiss artists such as Sophie Taeuber-Arp, for example, or by the minimalist Bauhaus movement, a continuous inspiration for La Prairie, from which she draws her graphic and creative inspiration through a search for perfect harmony.

Science, deeply rooted in La Prairie&rsquo;s formulations, is also celebrated with kinetic artworks like those by Berenice Abbot. Referencing Piet Mondrian, Marlow Moss' work recalls the aesthetic inspirations of the House and also echoes the House&rsquo;s collaboration with Fondation Beyeler. In the hopes of preserving and restoring works by Piet Mondrian, La Prairie works together with Fondation Beyeler to share this cultural heritage with future generations.
La Prairie&rsquo;s willingness to break the codes of luxury is the very same as that of the artist: explorer, pioneer, and adventurer. Together with the Centre Pompidou, they are inching towards a future of innovation, making culture and creation accessible to as many people as possible.&nbsp;
