Bringing the country’s rich heritage to Jia CURATED 2026, Tomorrow is an exhibition that showcases the evolving language of Philippine craft and design.

In contemporary times, arts and design are no longer just perceived solely on its visual appeal, but also for the message, intent, and impact they carry — particularly today, where conversations on sustainability, cultural preservation, and social civicness continue to influence creative practices. This year, Jia CURATED answers this transition with its 2026 edition, Nature Weave.
Returning to the beachfront landscape of Bali’s Pengembak Beach from August 13 to 17, the annual exhibition is set to be an exploration of craft in dialogue with the environment, encouraging designers and curators worldwide to create objects and installations that move in harmony with the site’s wind, water, and light.&nbsp;

Joining this year to represent the Philippines is Tomorrow — a guest-curated exhibition led by Gabriel Lichauco of NEWFOLK that brings together ten emerging Filipino artists and eleven heritage manufacturers, presenting their works that highlight the diverse design and craftsmanship traditions of the country.&nbsp;
“The whole collection is a personal letter from the Philippines to the world, marked by creativity and craftsmanship by showcasing diverse Filipino crafts,” said project editor Anna Rosette. “They form a portrait of an evolving design culture that honors traditions of making while welcoming new voices into the design discourse, reflecting indigenous handmade traditions and sustainable practices, emphasizing the rich cultural and heritage of the Philippines.”

<h4 style="text-align: center;">FLUTTER FLOOR LAMP</h4>

Bianca Carague
Drawing on themes of ecology, technology, and visions of the future, artist and designer Bianca Carague creates sculptural objects and digital landscapes that bring imagined worlds into existence through art. Her multidisciplinary practice explores the relationship and interconnectedness between people and the environments they shape.&nbsp;&nbsp;

South Sea Veneer Corporation
Since its founding in 2002, South Sea Veneer Corporation has grown beyond its roots as a wood veneer panel lamination specialist into a furniture manufacturer recognized for its bespoke designs and material expertise. Working closely with skilled wood craftspeople and an in-house design team, the company produces pieces that combine traditional craftsmanship with collaborative design.

Cara Mia
Viewing design as a form of alchemy, Cara Mia’s process centers on material transformation, in which unconventional combinations are turned into objects that balance function and creativity. Spanning garments, bags, and furniture, the studio views craftsmanship and innovation as complementary forces in creating pieces that uncover the layers of stories and characters embedded in every material.

E. Murio
Honed by decades of furniture-making knowledge and continuous exploration, E. Murio creates fine furniture, cabinetry, and home accessories that balance timeless design and exceptional quality. Through their mastery of natural materials, from tropical woods and rattan to bamboo and natural fibers, the workshop celebrates the rich artistry of handmade production.

Manila-based artist Chini Lichangco approaches design with a sense of care and curiosity, with her work often being influenced by personal memories and emotions. By putting together unexpected elements with an intuitive process, she produces handcrafted pieces that evoke warmth and nostalgia, while also inviting contemplation and human connection.&nbsp;

JB Woodcraft Inc.
With a legacy spanning 48 years, JB Woodcraft Inc. is a pioneering manufacturer renowned for advancing the art of hand-carved wooden furniture through its ingenious workmanship and deep appreciation for classical design. Its collections of rare and elegant pieces reflect the company’s dedication to detail, tradition, and the lasting value of handmade art.&nbsp;

With nearly three decades of experience, A. Calfurn Manufacturing Philippines, Inc.
Ever since its establishment in 1976, Calfurn Manufacturing Philippines, Inc. has been championing the abundance of Filipino weaving traditions through thoughtfully crafted furniture and furnishings. Working with indigenous and natural materials, its practice intertwines traditional weaving techniques with new design possibilities, spotlighting how a piece can be both timeless and globally relevant.&nbsp;

Meyte Szita Chan
As a third-generation Capiz artisan, Meyte Chan builds on a rich tradition of Philippine artistry through her studio Senseware. Her works reinterprets the iconic shell as more than just about culture and ancestry; it also serves as an instrument to carry experiences, philosophies, and the ever-evolving Filipino creative identity.&nbsp;

Senseware
More than a design brand, Senseware invites us to see how objects can shape the way we experience our surroundings. With the belief that furniture goes beyond function, it produces pieces that encourage mindfulness and introspection through sensory engagement — encouraging a deeper appreciation of materiality and everyday encounters.&nbsp;

S.C. Vizcarra
For over a century now, the legacy of fine hand embroidery established by Segundina Cornejo Vizcarra has continued to be preserved and to flourish through the stewardship of her daughter Vicky Vizcarra Amalignan-Sales. Through S.C. Vizcarra, the atelier continues the family’s history of meticulous needlework by creating handcrafted objects that reflect the beauty of one of the Philippines’ most enduring craft traditions.&nbsp;

Nazareno/Lichauco 
Working as collaborators since 2014, Rita Nazareno and Gabriel Lichauco’s practice spans curation, product design, and exhibitions that spotlight the enduring relevance of local resources in discovering new possibilities for cultural expression. Through their objects and spaces, they bring Philippine expertise into global conversations.

LAMANA
LAMANA started as the Philippines’ partner of Japanese furniture brand Ishinomaki Laboratory through Made in Local Manila. Rooted in the philosophy of local making, the studio has not only brought the laboratory’s practices to the country through Filipino artisanship, but has also cultivated its own design language by creating original pieces and collections that marry utility, sustainability, and the value of handmade production.

Zacarias1925
With a century-old hand-weaving tradition at its foundation, Zacarias 1925 threads together tradition and innovation by crafting contemporary objects inspired by the worlds of art, architecture, and film. Produced exclusively at S.C. Vizcarra Workshop by Rita Nazareno, the brand nods to the ongoing conversation between artisanal techniques and modern-day cultural influences.&nbsp;
