Filipina actress Janella Salvador and Thai actor Win Metawin star in their first cross-country film to be screened overseas by Warner Bros. Pictures.

Members of the media were invited at the Hilton Manila on March 5th for 28 Squared Studios, a production company based in the Philippines formed by Richard Juan and Kristhoff Cagape, to announce their official partnership with Warner Bros. This collaboration was initiated especially for the release of the film Under Parallel Skies, a film produced by 28 Squared Studios in collaboration with Two Infinity Entertainment of Hong Kong, which stars Filipina actress and singer Janella Salvador and Thai actor and musician Win Metawin. The film is directed by award-winning filmmaker Sigrid Andrea Bernardo. Under Parallel Skies narrates the journey of a Thai bachelor named Parin (Metawin) as he ventures to Hong Kong to find his long-lost mother. He meets a Filipino hotelier named Iris (Salvador) who assists him in understanding love, loss, and recovery in the unfamiliar city despite their cultural and identity disparities.

The press conference was graced by the presence of 28 Squared Studios&rsquo; CEO Richard and COO Kristhoff, Warner Bros. Philippines&rsquo; Director of Distribution Rico Gonzalez, actress Janella, and director Sigrid. Under Parallel Skies is the first film produced by 28 Squared Studios and the first film from the Philippines to be distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures this year. In addition to its premiere in the Philippines on April 17, Under Parallel Skies will be released in Singapore on May 1 and Thailand on May 9. The news was delivered in a recorded video by Win, Henry Tran - General Manager of Warner Bros. Thailand, and Scott Bergman - Executive Director of Operations for Asia Pacific at Warner Bros.&nbsp;

The people involved with the film alternated in responding to questions from the press. Janella discussed her preparations for her role as Iris and her experience working with Win. She mentioned that she and Win participated in acting workshops together in Thailand, which helped them feel comfortable performing together during the shooting. Richard discussed how he was able to&nbsp;recognize&nbsp;the unique quality of the film after viewing the initial version, prompting him to arrange a meeting with Rico from Warner Bros. Philippines to negotiate a potential distribution agreement. Rico subsequently showcased the film to his regional superiors, who determined that they wanted it to be released not only in the Philippines but also in Singapore and Thailand. Director Sigrid addressed the challenges and rewards of filming Under Parallel Skies in Hong Kong, emphasizing the significance of understanding each other's culture to foster an enjoyable work environment. After the Q&amp;A, the official poster of the movie was also revealed.&nbsp;

Under Parallel Skies was shot in Hong Kong from June 2023 to July 2023 with the assistance of the Hong Kong Tourism Board. It showcases renowned local sites such as Kowloon City and Tai O. The movie will debut in Hong Kong on March 11 as part of the esteemed 17th Asian Film Awards.
