This Pride Month, Dove brings together couples Chezka Carandang and Katrice Kierulf, Topper Fabregas and Luigi Posadas, and Pat Lasaten and Agnes Reoma to reflect on love, care, and the meaning of Pride.

This Pride Month, Dove Philippines brings together three Filipino couples—Chezka Carandang and Katrice Kierulf, Topper Fabregas and Luigi Posadas, Pat Lasaten and Agnes Reoma—to reflect on what it truly means to live authentically and love openly.&nbsp;
At its core, Pride is deeply personal. For Chezka and Katrice, Pride means “being free to express themselves regardless of what other people are seeing”. As content creators, they are no strangers to being in the public eye, and they understand more so the power of representation and the impact that openly living their truth can have on others who may still be finding the confidence to do the same.&nbsp;
Having built their own community online, they show that authenticity can be one of the most powerful forms of self-expression. And that authenticity greatly extends into their bond, which they describe as “genuine” and “very easy”. Together, they have created a space where they can grow individually and as a couple, becoming, in their words, “the best version of ourselves so far.”&nbsp;

Topper and Luigi share a similar outlook on Pride. For Luigi, Pride means “owning your life and being yourself authentically 100 percent”, highlighting the value of being able to live unapologetically and freely. Topper shares this perspective, describing Pride as “fully embracing your identity” and celebrating all the qualities that make each person unique.&nbsp;
Beyond identity and self-expression, their shared understanding of Pride also speaks to the foundation of their relationship. Luigi describes their bond as one where their energies naturally complement each other. “We both understand, love, and accept each other’s differences.” Luigi shares, adding that these differences have helped them grow both individually and as a couple. Grounded by a shared vision for their future, he perfectly describes their relationship as one that is ultimately “safe and sound”.&nbsp;
Topper echoes this sentiment, recalling just how aligned their dreams and ambitions are and how they share the same core values. And while they enjoy having fun together, he notes that they are just as content spending the quiet moments in each other’s company. “At the end of the day,” Topper says, “we’re each other’s favorite person.”

For Pat and Agnes, Pride is deeply intertwined with the confidence to be yourself, as well as the idea that every individual voice forms part of something larger. “Pride is not being afraid to be yourself.” Pat shares, “It is by being yourself that you inspire others to be themselves also.” Agnes builds on this idea, sharing, “It’s also a reminder na lahat tayo may voice.” That same ease in expressing who they are is also present in how their relationship began, growing naturally from friendship. “We really started as best friends,” Agnes starts, “So I would say that being together as friends yung root talaga ng relationship namin.” Pat also adds, “ People are craving for that natural and organic connection.”

Though their stories each carry their unique spark, all three couples point to a similar root: choosing each other every day and creating a safe space where both individuals thrive.&nbsp;

For Chezka and Katrice, having healthy hair and scalp is important because it’s a reflection of a person. “It shows how you take care of yourself.” Chezka starts, emphasizing how it plays a role in self-expression, and ultimately, in allowing one to be more comfortable to show up as they are. Katrice also adds that it’s also really more of a “confidence boost”, noting how feeling good about your hair and scalp can naturally translate into feeling more assured in everyday life.

For Luigi and Topper, maintaining healthy hair and scalp is part of their everyday routine, especially given their busy schedules and active lifestyles. “My scalp is the root of everything I do.” Luigi shares, “I’m always out under the sun and at different studios, so it’s important to me I’m able to take care of my hair even through my busy schedule.” Topper, meanwhile, believes that “healthy hair starts with a healthy scalp,” adding that he always makes sure to keep his scalp moisturized. “I always feel confident whenever my hair looks thick and vibrant.” Topper expresses.&nbsp;

For Pat and Agnes, healthy hair and scalp care became especially meaningful through personal experience. Agnes recalls a time during their wedding year when she struggled with unexpected breakouts, later realizing how scalp health can also affect the skin and overall well-being, especially for performers like them who are often on stage and sweating. This shifted her perspective on hair care, emphasizing that healthy hair starts from the roots. Pat shares her own experience as well, recalling how her biggest insecurity growing up was her frizzy hair. It was only over time—through learning how to better care for herself through skincare, proper nutrition, and rest— that she realized how these habits all add up to improve one’s well-being. Ultimately, Pat shares, “It affects your confidence. It’s very important din na gawin mo na siyang part ng routine mo.”
