For Bianca Ferro, becoming today’s It Girl is not about following trends or achieving cookie-cutter perfection, but about building yourself with intention—from the inspirations you seek and the passions you pursue to the self-care rituals that nourish you.

Long before the phrase&nbsp;It Girl became Internet shorthand for viral outfits, coveted beauty routines, and incredibly curated feeds, it pertained to something a little more elusive. Today, in a digital era where trends go as quickly as they come, true individuality has become something of a hidden treasure. It’s no longer found in following every viral trend that pops up, but in discovering the qualities and rituals that make someone unmistakably themselves.&nbsp;
Beauty content creator Bianca Ferro understands this the most. Spend enough time scrolling through her content on TikTok and you’ll find makeup tutorials, product recommendations, and snippets of her life. Yet beyond her huge presence on the digital space, her mindset is also set on cultivating a life away from the screen. Settling into the makeup chair for her glam, Bianca shares what life has been looking like for her lately. “I am such a workaholic. I absolutely love work,” she admits with a laugh. “I am a Capricorn, and they're usually very career driven, so that's what's been keeping me busy.” But between projects and the demands of her career, she has also learned to make space for things that nourish her creativity. Lately, that meant finding her way back to literature. “I've been trying to get back into reading. The book that I'm reading now, it's called Monstrilio by Gerardo Córdova. I'm a big fan of magical realism, and I love such mundane stories with dashes of fantasy. I think those are very interesting.”
Creativity, after all, has long been a constant in Bianca’s life. “I studied literature in college. I wanted to be a writer. I was also working at an art gallery before as a marketing specialist and also selling art,” she shares.

Looking back, content creation almost feels like what fate had set out for the 25-year-old content creator, where her love for storytelling, creativity, and self-expression could exist all at once. But the path to finding it wasn't as straightforward as it seems. “I started on TikTok, which is so funny because I didn’t have a TikTok until recently. I only had a TikTok account post-pandemic.” she starts. “Actually, I never really envisioned myself becoming a content creator, much less having an online presence. This social media chapter of my life really came because, at that time, I was going in between jobs. I was so unhappy in my corporate job. And during such a dull and honestly sad chapter of my life where I was so lost and didn't know what to do in my life, I found social media.” she expresses. “And I thought, ‘I want to do marketing.’ And if I had a good portfolio online, if I studied more about social media, then I would get a good corporate job and I would get a better nine-to-five. But I didn't know that I would actually find a talent there or find or be very interested in it.”
In the beginning, content creation was simply an outlet for her creativity. “I feel like, early on, so much of what I would do online was just experimenting on what works for me, what I'm interested in, what fuels me creatively,” she shares. And like any creative pursuit, it took a season of trial and error before her vision came into focus. “When I started my platform, I was really obsessed with what people would say because I was so new. I was so interested in the quantity of everything and the reaction of people. But now, I feel like it's more about just having more fun with it and being more authentic online and doing what resonates more with me,” she adds.
Now, nearly two years into her journey as a content creator, her priorities have also shifted. “I'm now around my second year of content creation. And, now, what is really important to me as I move forward with content creation is just really building a community.” she expresses.

Building a community, she believes, starts with creating content that feels honest. She does not describe herself as an influencer at all. Instead, she starts with the perspective she’s known the longest: that of a consumer. “Before being online, I was buying my own makeup. I was putting on my own makeup, and, until now, I am a consumer in my own right. So when it comes to that, I always think of myself and as a consumer and what I would like to see online from a brand and what captures my attention,” she expresses. “I also learned that whatever you put out, the universe returns to you. So if you put something positive out, then the universe will return positivity back into you and vice versa. If you give out negativity, the universe will give it back to you ten times more,” Bianca adds.
And if positivity is what guides everything Bianca shares, beauty is the medium through which she expresses it. “There has never been a time where social media did not mean beauty for me and that's sort of ingrained to my spirit and my upbringing.” she admits. “The first social media platform I ever really was interested and entertained by was&nbsp;YouTube. And the first few people I would watch are Michelle Phan or NikkieTutorials. I loved the calming, creative process of seeing how people transformed themselves through makeup. I also grew up surrounded by girls. I had many girl cousins and went to an all-girls school. In every phase of my life, I naturally found myself in these beauty-related roles,” she shares enthusiastically.
Bianca’s lifelong relationship with beauty has also shaped the way she sees the idea of the modern It Girl. For someone whose creative instincts have always been guided by what fulfills her, how she views the It Girl label has everything to do with nourishing a strong sense of self. Bianca believes becoming an It Girl is built from a richer tapestry of influences. “Their personal identity is so strong because it's not only informed by social media or what the trend is because that's so limited. It's informed by other forms: the environment, architecture, art, literature,” Bianca shares. “Who you are is informed by the way that you interact with the world and how you understand the world. I feel like I've always been sort of interested in following what comes natural and true to my heart and taste rather than necessarily following what’s trending.”

Just as she believes authenticity lies at the heart of being an It Girl, it also makes sense that her beauty rituals follow the same philosophy. They aren’t there to fulfill a certain look, but more about making her feel like herself. “One of my favorite things to do just to put me in the mood and make me feel good about myself is doing an everything shower from head to toe.” she shares. “I’ll focus on the hair, the face, and of course, the body. I feel like everybody focuses on the face, but it's also important to focus on the rest of your body.”
Bianca's idea of an It Girl naturally overlaps with what Dove has long championed: beauty as an act of self-care, because the rituals that make you feel good are just as important as the results they promise. For Bianca, bodycare is also more than just a routine. “Our skin is our number one protector. It protects our whole body. So it's so important to take care of it, to thank it for protecting you. And just sort of framing beauty rituals as forms of gratitude, it makes the whole routine better.” Even with her busy schedule, Bianca makes it a point to set aside time for her self-care rituals once or twice a week.&nbsp;
It's also why Bianca has learned to keep her bodycare ritual simple. “When it comes to my bodycare routine, I love a loofah and a liquid soap and I just scrub my body. And right afterwards, I love to put on an exfoliant. You scrub away the dead skin and when you come out, most of the time, your skin feels renewed.”&nbsp;

One product that has earned Bianca’s seal of approval is the new Dove Body Scrub, effortlessly fitting right into her uncomplicated routine. “I absolutely love it. The scent is insane. When you open the tub, it's like you've entered a bakery. It smells delicious,” she shares with a laugh. “I'm wearing it now. You can still smell it on the skin. The beauty of an It Girl ritual is that it’s deeply personal. It isn’t measured by how flawless it looks, but by how deeply it nourishes you. “I would recommend it to the girls who want to feel a little bit extra special in their routine,” Bianca shares. “Maybe their job tires them out. Maybe life has been treating us a little roughly. Or maybe even after a workout, this is a great way to treat yourself afterwards. It's like a sweet little treat,” Bianca concludes. Because if there's one thing she’s learned, it's that becoming an It Girl isn't about following the perfect routine. It's about finding the rituals that feel true to you.
